I have been amazed at the reaction to the article I wrote for Multisport Magazine (www.sportsguide.co.za) last month here.
I have had requests from all over to republish the article on various websites and emails from people asking questions. I am stoked with the feedback.
The article was picked up but surfski website www.surfski.info (http://www.surfski.info/getting-started/tips-training/item/1130-core-strengthening-exercises-for-paddlers.html) as well as the Abu Dhabi Ocean Warriors website at (http://adowsurfski.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/core-crunching).
All this is great to speed the knowledge, that’s the whole idea on writing these article is the first place but it really hit home the reach via the internet when I got a mail from New Zealand. I have never been there and know very few people who live there. Kind of out of site out of mind, so was my surprise to get this mail in my inbox.
My name is Kevin O’Connor ; I’m a paddler in New Zealand.
I just wanted to thank you for the article you wrote for Surfski info about core stability. Although I’m an experienced paddler , I’m relatively new to ocean paddling . I’ve been looking for a set of exercises such as you described for a while and bingo- all in one place. I know the elite guys do their thing but one thing I’ve found about surf ski paddlers is the elite guys such as yourself seem pretty happy to pass on knowledge and help.
So on behalf of all of us newish ocean paddlers , many thanks.
Cheers and regards from NZ,
Thanks to Kevin for the email. This mail is why I do it!
