I have an awesome opportunity to be involved with Story Sessions no 5 with Thando Thusi. The event off really well thanks to Travis Gale and his team who put together this awesome concept.

I had never been to a story sessions event before so didn’t know what to expect. The vibe is so similar to this blog. I started this blog to tell a story I was passionate about and story sessions is essentially that, simply telling a story that the city of Durban needs to hear.

The session also hit home to me in a couple of aspects. We have such an amazing city around us in Durban and to have this event outdoors in winter under the stats just show cases how lucky we are. This concept doesn’t show of Durban but also its dynamic people and how they make this place so special. What an amazing mix.

The story itself is something close to me with being involved with Marine my whole life and helping pioneer from the outset in 2007. I am hoping to put up a video on the talk, watch this space. Will leave you with some lessons learnt from the people who spoke.
Travis Gale – Extracting positive connections from a story can inspire positive drive into one’s own directed efforts.
Trevor Martin – To have a vision of a positive future and the commitment to pursue it despite the challenges.
Mark Lewin – To achieve try change, don’t change the attitude of other, change your own attitude.
Mark Lewin – See potential in other and empower them through opportunities.
Thando Thusi – Love what you do and there will be little challenges.

Thando Thusi – There is countless value in the family of communitee around him at Marine.
