Well the first 2 days on tour were a without my luggage. Lucky got tons of mates on tour to lend me some kit. Finally my bags got here this evening and most importantly got my blades before the race. With only 2 days to the race blades would be a good thing to have.
Overall the vibe here is amazing, the biggest stage for surfski racing world wide, the meeting of the entire industry and the worlds elite. If you want to do well its here against the best in the world.

Paddling out the Knysna heads s a special experience n any conditions. The front bunch raced flat out to the heads expecting a bit of a run on the trip down to Sedgefield. This wasn’t the case and the strong contingent down for the SA single ski champs were greeted with calm milky conditions.

Hit the road yesterday for the long drive down to Plett which was to be the base for this weekend’s Knysna to Sedgefield SA surfski champs.

I did the paddle leg for a 3 man Jeep team (Carl Storm ran and Matt Goetsch biked and I paddled) at the triple Challenge today. We got a clap by a superstar team from Mr Price, finishing 2nd some 15min back. Good friend and favourite for the race Dan Hugo (www.dghugo.com) cleaned up, he paddled my awesome Legend on the paddle leg. Sounds like he is going to have a nice rest now after a long season. Wow, had a tough but amazing weekend. Partner Greg and I headed up to Winterton on Thursday which for me would be a new adventure. Luckily we got to ride some of the course with the D4 productions TV crew with Andrew King getting some classic footage. The pre riding helped my confidence and was super pumped up for the challenge of 60km first day.
