Frustration! Highs and lows are always going to happen but am searching for that high. I am telling myself patience but not so easy.
Arriving at Umtinzini to the realisation the predicted SW wind predicted wasn’t coming saw a very quiet and apprehensive crowd.
Was surprised how many still decided to race with no wind. There was a time I would have put my boat back on the roof of the car. Needed the training and a much more open mind this year to do “not so fun” races to toughen me up.

| I didn't kill myself at Cradock |

Although I am not current training for canoeing races the temptation of heading down to Cradock for the Fish couldn’t be avoided. I really believe this is the best race in the world and to miss it would be stupid.
So instead of racing I padded socially in a K3 with two mates from CT, Justin Swart and Marcel Basson. We had a great two days on the river.
