It’s taken me 3 days of pondering over the happenings over last week’s nationals to sit down and write this blog. Such a contrast of positive and negative coming out of the champs I really don’t know where to start.

Been hectic busy the first part of the year so have only just managed to head into the Jeep Apparel head office to hook up some of their awesome kit for the year. The Jeep family put their heads together thanks to Lisa and picked some of Jeep's latest range for me, so blessed!

We just had unreal condition on Friday eveing for race 8 of the Varsity College Surfski Series. Even better to have a huge field down for the race I sponsor. The series is very good to the Surfskischool so I really love the opportunity to give back a little and sponsor the race.

The Sharks’ social responsibility initiatives took on a whole new and interesting complexion on Thursday when five months of beard were unceremoniously – but with great care – removed from the face of Rory Kockott.

I popped a seat pin 20m into the race and had to stop on the first bend to sort the problem out and only really got going some 15min later. So frustrating. I haven’t been able to race any of the Marine Series race being the organiser so this is the first time I have had a chance to race and see how the training is going. Not to be, that’s river racing for you.
