Last week was awesome not having a race with the Unlimited Duzi on. My shoulder has been very stiff and starting to niggle and the time off has been great to do some rehab on it. 

It's that time of year again. Setting up the structure for the year, what events to go to and of course new racing kit. This stuff gets me so amped to race and fuels the next session!

The last 5 weeks have been hectic with the series in full. It’s been a challenge organising the series and racing it as well. Sleep when you dead stuff. The last week has been a rest week to focus on some shoulder rehab which is now feeling good and take a time out from both training and racing. There are many distractions in Durban so embraced doing the stuff I dig.

I have had the privilege of seconding a gentleman and hero in Ant Stott on the Unlimited Duzi River Canoe Marathon over the last 3 years. This week was the biggest multiday race in the world again and one cant not...

The year has hardly started but no chance for a stretch or warm up. With the Varsity College Marine Surfski Series in full force I have picked up some nice media already this year. Helps with a great relationship with Multisport Magazine, I have a coulomb in every issue of this FREE mag, plus they cover surfski in a big way. More of a training day than serious racing. The focus is on the longer form of racing and with a 2h downwind the day before so the prep wasn't ideal. Picked up 5 medals but non gold, luck of the big surf of the day. Super fun racing though!

The Varsity College Marine Surfski Series hosts the SA Schools Champs on the 25^th of March this year and teams up with the Surfskischool to run free clinics in Durban, PE and CT to get as many high school kids into surfski as possible.
